Natural Rock Crystal Deodorant by Alvin Connor
How safe is your normal deodorant?
There is a growing bank of evidence that indicate a possible link between the use of antiperspirants (containing aluminum) and the rising rates of breast cancer. This evidence tells us that antiperspirants which contain chemicals such as Zirconium and aluminum are perhaps harmful and natural crystal deodorant is a safer option. While these two chemicals are safe if they are kept outside the body, it is believed that they cause untold problems if they are absorbed into the body by being taken up through the hair shaft pores in the skin where they react with water and swell. The scary thing is most brands today contain aluminum and zirconium based products, it's very hard to find a product without them. Conventional deodorants form a layer upon the top of the skin which blocks perspiration. This is bad because perspiration is used to release toxins from the body and blocking this could lead to a build up of toxins in the lymph nodes in the armpit. The problem is that over the years this can contribute problems. There is a significant difference between naturally occurring alum and synthetic aluminum compounds. Naturally occurring alum is a large molecule which kills bacteria that is on the surface of the skin. Due to its size, it is generally not absorbed through the skin. It works by killing the bacteria which is the cause of body odour. |
